London Trip Information

Here are the details:
Leave school at 10am on Monday 28th November and drive to London. This *should* take three hours, but will depend on London traffic. We will have lunch on the way, so they should either bring a packed lunch or some money.
Accommodation is in a townhouse – 38 Chapel Street, Belgravia, SW1X 7DD and we will settle in and then walk to the Natural History Museum (about 30 mins) for 2pm. We will spend the afternoon there with Dr. Lawrence Owens who has just returned from a dig in Peru so we’re lucky to catch him. He is a bioarchaeologist and physical anthropologist. His website is https://lawrenceowens.org should you wish to see what he’s all about.
We will then walk back to the house and have some down time before heading out to dinner together. Please also provide money for dinner – we’ll make sure it’s not too expensive and are happy to cover anyone that might struggle with that. Suggested amount is £25-30.
Tuesday morning – those going to the Houses of Parliament with Mr. Passey will need to leave the house at 8.30am to walk there (30 mins) for the 9.15 workshop start. Miss King and another member of staff will be taking the GCSE pupils out to do their fieldwork. They will all need pens, a pencil and a rubber.
The two groups will then meet back at the bus and we will drive back to school. We will have lunch on the way back, so again, they will need money for that. We aim to be back at school by 4.30, but that will be traffic dependent and we will keep in touch to let you know.
