Kimichi School in The Community

Community

We were privileged to play at a memorial celebration at Chelmsley Wood Baptist Church on the 5th July 2016. Everybody enjoyed our performance very much, and we very much appreciated being a part of this community event.

We helped clean up our local canal with the help of Lee from Waterside Care. Armed with gloves, hi-vis vests, litter pickers and plastic bags we made a beeline for our local canal-side, and spent a couple of hours picking as much litter up as we could. The pupils were all amazed at what people had thrown away; we think there was somebody’s entire wardrobe in one section! Everybody worked really hard, and Lee was fantastic; he invited the pupils back to participate in water testing at the brook which runs into the local canal, so we really managed to get a lot done.

Well done to all involved!

The Kimichi Pops Orchestra

We are very excited for our new venture, The Kimichi Pops Orchestra! We are an orchestra of wonderful, like-minded musicians, performing music from the world of film, television and gaming. As we are brand new, we are regularly seeking musicians to expand our already brilliant ensemble at the Kimichi School, Acocks Green.

As well as encouraging young people to develop their ensemble music- making skills, many adults have joined the ranks to brush up on skills they had thought long forgotten.

Rehearsals are held every second Sunday of the month from 2-4pm. If you’re interested in joining us, please email enquiries@kimichischool.co.uk with your name, email address, instrument and approximate standard/grade.
